Sunday 11th November – walk **** – Levington – Sunny periods and very cold.

The day again started very cold with even more icy frost than yesterday, gloomy at first but it cleared during the morning. With a hospital visit booked to see the lovely Maeva in the afternoon it gave us a morning at home. Mag braved the cold to do a bit of front door sanding while I did my exercises. I then packed a lunch, rolls and cuppa soup once again and we left Felixstowe at 12.15 as a large black cloud approached. We had a little rain with a rainbow but it headed over Felixstowe while Levington Marina stayed in the sunshine. Being too early for lunch we decided to walk first talking the River Orwell path towards the creek and we soon saw some deer in the reeds:) The tide was high with very little wind the river looked wonderful but the first section of path was very muddy! We spotted some more deer near the small lake and a marsh harrier passed overhead. There were once again loads of birds in Levington Creek as we ambled pass in the sunshine. We took the lane back to avoid the mud cutting through the hedge near the marina road spooking a couple of deer! Then then through the marina and back to the van for lunch with a great view across the river and we were lucky enough to see a kingfisher whizz past:) It was then only a 10 minute ride to the hospital where Jay was resting with Dan left holding the baby:) We both spent some real quality time with father and child, our 5th visit before heading for home, no nice sunset tonight as it had clouded over. It is now raining with a real chance of some snow tonight as the cold weather shows no sign of leaving:(
